Since beginning his professional career in 1980, Dane has amassed thirty years of experience as a management consultant, senior corporate executive and CEO. Dane specializes in:
- Strategic planning and long-term competitive visioning
- Marketing strategy and customer/market segmentation
- Brand management and revitalization
- Leadership and management development that improves organizational performance and bench strength
- Organization design, both in terms of organization structure and process-improvement
In addition to RNW, Dane’s has worked with some of the world’s leading consulting organizations, including Booz -Allen & Hamilton, FTI Helios, Cerenti Marketing Group, and OC&C Strategy Consulting in London.
He has led engagements for clients in the retailing, technology, financial, media and professional services sectors. Representative clients served include Pepsico, Tupperware, May Department Stores, Kraft, Sotheby’s, Allstate, Charles Levy Company, Wolters Kluwer, Sears, Monsanto, Hospira, Harris Bank, Aetna, The Tribune Company, Siebold, and the Taubman Company.
Outside of consulting, Dane spent over a decade in the packaging industry, initially as Vice President of Planning for Continental Can Company and subsequently as CEO & President of White Cap, Inc., a $200-million global manufacturer of metal and plastic closures for the food & beverage industry. He later served as CEO of Exxceed, Inc., a startup company providing performance management software.
EDUCATION
Dane holds an M.B.A. in marketing and finance from the University of Chicago, an M.A. from Carnegie-Mellon University, and a B.A. from Friends World College. He also completed all graduate coursework and qualifying examinations for a Ph.D. from Northwestern University.
A PERSONAL NOTE
Outside of business hours, Dane plays bass guitar with several Chicago-area bands, a habit he picked up in high school and never quite managed to kick. He also enjoys skiing, foreign travel, going to movies, and just hanging out with his kids.
